NEW ALTS!

We’re happy to announce our new alternotives:

Zoe Carmichael, Alice Robinson, Katty Cowles, Natalie Fairhurst, James Hardie, Sam Lupton and Tom Gaisford!

We’re getting cracking on some exciting new festive arrangements so if you think you’ve got an event that’s in some need of some a cappella- facebook message or email the group, we’d love to sing for you!

The Alts are auditioning!

The Oxford Alternotives want you!

The Oxford Alternotives, Oxford’s award-winning mixed a cappella group, are holding auditions for all singers for this coming year! You don’t need to have any previous a cappella experience, just come along with a short, unaccompanied solo and show us what you’ve got! (This can include beat-boxing).

We’re incredibly excited about this coming year; the group will be recording a brand new album as well as going on tour around Europe. We’ll also be back up to Edinburgh in the summer to continue our highly successful run at the fringe festival.

Auditions will be held in the Keble music room on the 11th and 12th of October. Simply email theoxfordalts@gmail.com for a slot or if you have any questions!

A NIGHT WITH THE ALTERNOTIVES

This evening we’re hosting a very special concert with a veritable smorgasbord of a cappella, all in the name of charity.

The Alts will be singing alongside Out of the Blue, The Oxford Gargoyles, The Oxford Belles, and not one but TWO visiting groups from America.

Tickets are £5 for students, with all the proceeds going towards the Irish Cancer Society, for whom our wonderful president Niamh is running the London Marathon in April.

The Bernard Sunley Theatre, St Catherine’s College, Oxford. 7pm start.

American Tour!

Over the Easter vacation the Alts toured New England, visiting Boston, New Haven, and New York. We made stops at Harvard and Yale along with many other universities along the way. Highlights including singing for St Butolph’s club and the South Street Diner in Boston, for the Hudson Union in New York and, perhaps most memorably, an impromptu gig on Boston Common. Thank you to all the other groups who hosted us an made us feel so welcome – we had an incredible time!
